What Is EFT (Tapping)?
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques—often referred to as 'tapping' has developed as a robust psychophysiological technique. It integrates principles from cognitive therapy with exposure therapy and body-based stress reduction, which sets it apart from traditional approaches.
EFT Tapping is an emotional form of acupuncture that uses gentle tapping instead of needles.
EFT allows us to release and transform the way uncomfortable feelings like hurt, guilt, fear, or anger may be affecting our experience of life.
EFT can also be used to help transform the thoughts and beliefs behind our emotional experiences.
After just a few rounds of tapping, people often report feeling lighter and calmer and able to breathe more easily – almost as if they now have more space inside.
They may report that their thinking has changed, they have gained new insights or that they are feeling better, overall.
Tapping is the easiest & fastest way to move our nervous system from flight/fright response to rest & digest response.
Tapping resets our nervous system, our nervous system is always in either parasympathetic response known as rest & digest response or in the sympathetic response, otherwise known as the stress response.
In rest & digest our bodies go into healing, rejuvenating – our bodies calm down, we are able to relax and sleep.
